The Vatican No Likey Prometheus
September 25, 2012 | 7 months ago
Surprise surprise, the Vatican does not like a film about aliens that philosophises on the subject of the origin of human life. The Vatican’s official newspaper has crticised Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” and the whole premise of the movie but particularly the parts about mankind’s origin, stating that it’s, “a bad idea to defy the gods.“ The paper goes on to argue that the movie, “mishandles the delicate questions raised by the eternal battle between good and evil in yet another attempt to steal the secret of immortality.”
The Vatican believes Prometheus symbolizes the search for the supernatural. Who would have thought that a science-fiction film would have supernatural themes? The Vatican has not been afraid of voicing its criticisms about films recently. You may recall their dislike of James Cameron’s “Avatar” as well as Ron Howard’s “The Da Vinci Code” based on the Dan brown book. Haters gonna hate.
